We're excited to introduce Shop & Deliver - a new type of order that gives you, and any registered substitutes, even more opportunities to earn with Deliveroo.
With Shop & Deliver, you or any registered substitute will:
- SHOP in-store for the customer's listed items
- PAY using a virtual Rider Card, then
- DELIVER the order as usual.

We'll be rolling out Shop & Deliver in phases, so it won't be available to every rider or in every area straight away. If you're eligible, we'll let you know when it's available and how to get started.
Why you'll love Shop & Deliver
- Earn more per order: Shopping orders typically pay more than a standard delivery because you're paid for both shopping and delivering. You'll always see the fee before you decide if you want to accept the order.
- More opportunities to earn: Customers place Shopping orders throughout the day, not just for lunch and dinner. That means more opportunities to earn outside of traditional peak times.
- It's easy: Never completed a Shopping order before? No problem. The Rider app will guide you through every step, from finding and scanning items to paying at the checkout and uploading your receipt.
Getting ready
To be offered Shopping orders, you'll need to add your virtual Rider Card to your Apple or Google Wallet. We'll let you know when you can do this. For any registered substitutes, their virtual Rider Card will become available to add once you've added yours. As a reminder, under your Supplier Agreement, you are responsible for any substitutes you use and for their actions while riding with Deliveroo.
When it's time to pay, we'll automatically load the card with the right amount to cover the customer's shopping, so you'll never need to use your own money to pay for an order.
If Shop & Deliver isn't available to you yet, don't worry. We're running a trial first and we'll let you know as soon as you can start being offered Shopping orders.
